A cover of Scrawl's "11:59 (It's January)" for Jon Solomon's 24-Hour Xmas Marathon.

Longtime listeners of my radio program (ahem, Her Jazz) are familiar with my love of Scrawl, not to mention that in years past, I've been lucky to be lead-in show to the Xmas marathon. I don't think there's any better song to capture the pure dread of New Year's Eve, a holiday that I dislike and have been fortunate to hide from in years past thanks to on-air shifts at WPRB.

Not to get all deep on everyone, BUT: the Xmas marathon is one of those unique points in the WPRB calendar in which on-air folks and listeners can come together. This year I appreciate (now more than ever!) the connection community radio uniquely provides while we socially distance.

Thanks for listening and hope all of you are staying safe during these challenging times. 2021 can only be better. Right? Right.
